Nine foods you should never eat again

(NaturalNews) With so much misinformation out there about food and how it affects human health, making healthy food choices for you and your family can be difficult and confusing. There are a number of specific foods; however, that you will want to avoid in almost every circumstance because they provide virtually no health benefits while posing plenty of health risks. Here are nine foods you should never eat again if you care about preserving your long-term health:
1) White bread, refined flours. By definition, white bread and refined flours in general are toxic for your body because they have been stripped of virtually all vitamins, minerals, fiber, and other important nutrients. Because of this, the body does not know how to properly digest and assimilate these so-called foods, which can lead to health problems. Refined white flour has also been bleached with chlorine and brominated with bromide, two poisonous chemicals that have been linked to causing thyroid and organ damage. (http://drlwilson.com/ARTICLES/BREAD.htm)
2) Conventional frozen meals. Most conventionally-prepared frozen meals are loaded with preservatives, processed salt, hydrogenated oils and other artificial ingredients, not to mention the fact that most frozen meals have been heavily pre-cooked, rendering their nutrient content minimal at best (especially after getting microwaved again at home). With the exception of a few truly healthy frozen meal brands such as Amy’s and Organic Bistro, most frozen meals are little more than disease in a box, so avoid them in favor of fresh foods. 3) White rice. Like white bread, white rice has been stripped of most of its nutrients, and separated from the bran and germ, two natural components that make up rice in its brown form. Even so-called “fortified” white rice is nutritionally deficient, as the body still processes this refined food much differently than brown rice, which is absorbed more slowly and does not cause the same spike in blood sugar that white rice does. (http://globalnaturopath.com)
4) Microwaveable popcorn. This processed food is a favorite among moviegoers and regular snackers alike, but it is one of the unhealthiest foods you can eat. Practically every component of microwaveable popcorn, from the genetically-modified (GM) corn kernels to the processed salt and preservative chemicals used to enhance its flavor, is unhealthy and disease-promoting. On top of this, microwaveable popcorn contains a chemical known as diacetyl that can actually destroy your lungs. If you love popcorn, stick with organic kernels that you can pop yourself in a kettle and douse with healthy ingredients like coconut oil, grass-fed butter, and Himalayan pink salt. (http://www.naturalnews.com)
5) Cured meat products with nitrates, nitrites. Deli meats, summer sausage, hot dogs, bacon, and many other meats sold at the grocery store are often loaded with sodium nitrite and other chemical preservatives that have been linked to causing heart disease and cancer. If you eat meat, stick with uncured, nitrite and nitrate-free varieties, and preferably those that come from organic, grass-fed animals. (http://www.naturalnews.com/028824_processed_meat_heart_disease.html)
6) Most conventional protein, energy bars. By the way they are often marketed, it might seem as though protein and energy bars are a strong addition to a healthy diet. But more often than not, these meal replacements contain processed soy protein, refined sugar, hydrogenated fat, and other harmful additives that contribute to chronic illness. Not all protein and energy bars are bad, of course — Thunderbird Energetica, Organic Food Bar, Boku Superfood, Vega Sport, PROBAR, and Zing all make healthy protein and energy bars. Just be sure to read the ingredient labels and know what you are buying.
7) Margarine. Hidden in all sorts of processed foods, margarine, a hydrogenated trans-fat oil, is something you will want to avoid at all costs for your health. Contrary to popular belief, butter and saturated fats in general are not unhealthy, especially when they are derived from pastured animals that feed on grass rather than corn and soy. And if animal-based fats are not for you, stick with extra-virgin coconut oil or olive oil rather than margarine. (http://www.naturalnews.com/027865_saturated_fat_health.html)
8) Soy milk and soy-based meat substitutes. One of the biggest health frauds of modern times, the soy craze is a fad that you will want to skip. Besides the fact that nearly all non-organic soy ingredients are of GM origin, most soy additives are processed using a toxic chemical known as hexane, which is linked to causing birth defects, reproductive problems, and cancer. Soy that has not been fermented is also highly estrogenic, which can throw your natural hormone balance out of whack. (http://www.naturalnews.com/026303_soy_protein_hexane.html)
9) “Diet” anything. Many so-called “diet” products on the market today contains artificial sweeteners like aspartame (Equal) and sucralose (Splenda), both of which are linked to causing neurological damage, gastrointestinal problems, and endocrine disruption. Many diet products also contain added chemical flavoring agents to take the place of fat and other natural components that have been removed to artificially reduce calorie content. Instead, stick with whole foods that are as close to nature as possible, including high-fat foods grown the way nature intended, and your body will respond surprisingly well. 4. Jutika lam, how is this "so dumn and fake "?? Do some research instead of reading of a website? Do you not understand the concept of processed foods? I think you need to open your eyes and your mind and do some research of what you have or have been putting into your body.

  5. Everyone has a different list of what you can't eat..... I ask 'what can I eat?'

    Certainly not Dihydrogen Monoxide, eh?

  6. Ignorance is bliss as they say. If anyone thinks this is fake just look at America. Obesity is like our number two top health problem leading to god only knows how many preventable deaths each year falling just behind smoking cigarettes or using other tabacco products. Food is supposed to promote life not end it but when the worlds population is out of control think of it like this... Peopele like jutika lam will die and be weeded out of the gene pool... Its just natural selection at work and part of mans evolution. Believe what you want but if you didnt grow the veggies yourself or butcher your own mammals chances are someone somewhere is cutting corners to turn a profit regardless if it is safe to eat or not. Money makes the world go around right????? Research Aspartame in any diet product youll see..... Bone cancer sounds worth it right?? Too bad mankind is the only species not concerned with the preservation of its own kind.... Well ants outnumber humans anyways the planet is really theirs lol.

  7. What a joke! We are the longest living and healthiest generation in human history. But I guess our longevity gives us time to worry about whether our food came from grass fed cows instead of corn fed cows. You people need to get a life and start addressing much more pressing issues in the world than what's in your corn flakes.

  8. I agree ellephgee. These spoiled hipsters should be thankful they're in America. Starving kids in underdeveloped countries eat dirt trying to feed there hunger, they drink unsafe water..how about instead of spending extra on organic food (which has generally no government regulations so you still have no idea what you're getting) donate that money to kids who would love high fructose corn flakes.

    1. Many of the ignorant decisions that we as Americans make such as eating food that a scientist developed in a lab actually results in the starving of children abroad. Our bottled water industry actually causes them water shortages and safety issues. Our importing of beef for Big Macs causes people in these countries major environmental degradation and therefore a degradation of culture and health. The only thing that we as Americans should be happy about is the fact that people do not try to invade and conquer us, and the fact that we live in a democracy. The biggest problem in our country is ignorant, ill-informed people calling people who question what they are told and form alternative opinions. The so-called hipsters that you speak of will be those who change the world. I am an educated and well traveled young person who has footed my own bill since I was 15. If I am a spoiled hipster, then sir/ ma'am, I am quite happy that I am anything other than you. Wake up and relieve yourself from hate, inform yourself and have enough self respect to have educated arguments instead of generalized false ideas.

  10. If the source material of these arguments is reviewed, one will discover that the writers go on to tell us not to drink any of the plant-based milk substitutes because of GM issues. They advise us to drink skim milk instead. Drink skim milk? So bovine growth hormone and animal cruelty issues should be ignored? Please...

Also, not only is white bread consumption discouraged on this post, but the authors tell us in the source material not to eat multi-grain bread either. Let's see, that would be no bread except for maybe whole wheat? Or is it suspect too?

As for the bologna (intentional food pun) about white rice; Cambridge reports that 60% of the world's population's diet consists of 50% white rice. For the people who fall into that category and also have access to modern healthcare, they are by far healthier than most anyone who eats a Western diet.

We are fat in America because we are cheap, hurried, ignorant, and self-centered. Many of us are also gullible enough to believe the dribble penned on blogs like this one, one whose primary purpose is to drive traffic to its banner content and monetize the site.

  11. I know of many very healthy food conscience people who only ate an organic vegan diet and died of cancer. I think more than GM foods people need to eat things in moderation, yes do get rid of anything white, I am surprised that they didn't mention sugar which is definitely poison to your body, and as for margarine there are many brands that are made with olive oil, canola oil and are non-hydrodinated like Becel for instance. As someone with a family history of heart disease butter is a real no no. everything in moderation. people need to read food nutritional labels on the food they buy.

    1. Not to mention, white basmati rice and converted rice because it is low on the glycemic index is Okay for diabetics, me being one, I have learned a lot about what's ok and what is not. what people need to look at is the amount of sugar in processed food which has increased significantly over the past 30 years. Even your cereal has way more sugar in it than it used to.

  13. funny, every food is bad or good for you,
depending on what article you read.

for everything and anything, there's always an opposing side.

all in all, it's a matter of how well you are built genetically.

but i would like to say,
    this article is nonsense.

  15. oH GOSH! I should eat air? READING SITES wont make you smarter. "Coffee is good for you, coffee is bad for you; Spinach is healthy, oh wait, spinach is as healthy as any other legume; vinegar is good for your stomach, vinegar will destroy your stomach...etc etc. THOUSAND SITES, THOUSAND RESEARCHES, THOUSAND OPINIONS and thousand CAMPAIGNS FOR AND AGAINST FOOD. For ex; there is poison in the seeds of apples(It's a fact, but a scientist way back in the past century found out that small amounts of these seeds cure cancer) And the FDA prohibited the drug because contained small amount of cyanide, and thus prohibited a cancer cure. And you want me to believe you? I DON'T THINK SO. All I know, fresh food( home made) is the healthiest.

  16. according to the logic of this article you should also never use,
    Dihydrogen monoxide

    this is also very bad
    lol.

  18. very informative. thank you a lot .

  19. In case no gets the reference: dihydrogen monoxide = water (H20). Just putting that out there...

  20. Or you could just live your life without stressing over and fearing everything. You may not live as long, but you might actually live.

    ReplyDelete
  21. We are the longest living generation due to our expertise of medicine, not necessarily our diet. For me the most important thing is eating clean foods. Foods that haven't been treated with chemicals and that are grown safe. The problem is, you never really know where your food is coming from, or if it is being regulated correctly. Scary to think about.

    ReplyDelete
  22. dihydrogen monoxide deffo is very poisonous :D

i think all in moderation works fine, although it pays off to actually watch yourself for a while and work out what certain foods do to your body. if you want to avoid real nasty stuff, stop being lazy and cook at home. this way you will know what goes down your mouth and can control it. processed food is a no no. also, cut down on sugar, salt and margarine.

  23. Naturalnews is a conspiracy website which Alex Jones constantly links to. I wouldn't call it a good source for anything.

  24. Lol yeah I'm just gonna go ahead and ignore this, because I actually lose wait and get into a better shape eating almost everything listed here. I lost 30 pounds in a month and half eating almost nothing but what is listed here

  25. Hilarious....

  26. I think the world is going through evolution as it should be, we are just getting our future generations ready for a world without fresh vegetables and "healthy foods", is called evolution human body needs to get resistant to synthetic and processed food in order to survive, there is no guarantee that all those healthy foods are going to be available in the future, yes some of us will die of some kind of unhealthy food related disease, means we are not strong enough to endure it. and i don't think eating healthy is a guarantee of a healthy and long life, my mother used to eat all fresh fruit and lots of veggies fresh also, no processed food or nothing, because she was raised in a farm, and she still died of cancer.....well in my case i will at least enjoy delicious junk "food", if i'm gonna die of something anyways........

    ReplyDelete
  27. @ellephgee - Studies indicate that children born today have a shorter life expectancy than their parents because of our Western diet of processed foods and inactivity. This IS something to worry about!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Oh boy... really! You're going to ignore this because you lost weight. You can lose weight eating these foods, for sure... But, more than likely you're body is depleted of it's necessary vitamins and minerals. Raw vegetables, fruits, and leafy greens are very important to the human body. When was the last time you ate five servings of REAL veggies? And, not those processed juices that say, "this accounts for one serving of vegetables." Get with it people, it may be more expensive, which is the only downfall, but whole and locally grown foods are what really does a body good. Research definitely shows that eating lots of fruits and vegetables every day, as part of an overall healthy diet, may help reduce your risk of several chronic diseases, including stroke, heart disease and some cancers.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Completey agree ,but its not just about consuming all that toxic crap , its equally about the processing it all goes through and how harmful to our environment it is to produce !

    ReplyDelete
  30. 'Unhealthy food' tastes good... FACT! It is made with artificial flavours and enhancers.

And unless you live your life wearing a gas mask, stopping yourself from breathing in toxic spores and pollution from your car, your neighbours car, their neighbours car, the bus that drives our children to school, the tractor that crops your 'healthy' food, the people you walk past smoking in the street etc you are still at just as high a risk of cancer!

Footballers and sportsmen HAVE to have a healthy diet in order to stay fit, keep up with game and earn their multi million pound salary... Yet how often do we see on the news that a young sportsman has just dropped dead of a heart attack, or other heart related injuries...? It happens! Not to mention the countless other times this happens to people in ALL professions!

One of the most common causes for strokes in stress. So while you are all increasing your chances of getting a stoke by getting your knickers in a twist about what you eat and the latest (ever changing) list of what you can and can't eat. I will be doing what I enjoy, eating sh*t, and washing it down with pop drinks FULL of aspartame!

Forget about all your statistics on death rates (based on theories only as every person is unique and you never know how long they would have lived if they did things differently)! It IS A FACT that happy people live longer! Even if me and you live to be the EXACT same age, I will have lived longer than you. Not reading the packets of every single thing I buy worrying about what it contains or how it was made; but living life to its full!

Final point... If these things were that bad for you, the government would NOT allow them to be sold! 'Sunny-D' springs to mind.

    ReplyDelete
  31. This is a politics strategy . By sharing this , they are expect people to stop buying all this product so they could sell home product .... just eat whatever you want but don't take too much ... that's all

    ReplyDelete
  32. They are absolutely right about all of this. Read the book "Good Calorie, Bad Calorie" by Gary Taubes. All of the science is layed out in it. Back "in the day" before sugar and processed flour were introduced to this country there was little "disease of mankind" meaning diabetes, cancer and heart disease. People ate animal-based diets and what wheat they DID eat was not anything like today's wheat. Watch "Fat Head" the movie. It's free on Hulu.

    ReplyDelete
  33. actually, for the last 3 yrs i have been researching GMO foods. I am not going to preach because those who dont want to know, wont listen and those who already know stay away from them. I encourage everyone to watch Genetic Roulette, The Gamble of our Lives, and form your own informed opinion. The government lets these seeds in because , an ex VP of Monsanto is on the FDA, and a former Monsanto lawyer sits on the Supreme court of Justice> The company pushes the fact that less pesticide has to be used on these seeds, what they dont tell you is that is because the pesticide is infused with the seed...just do any research on GMO foods...non of it is good

  34. I don't understand why people who disagree with this article are 1. Reading it and 2. Taking the time to comment and then arguing a counter point. Makes no sense. If you disagree - move on. That should add about 2 years to your life span.

Next - people want to talk about how they are "fine" - no health problems or they have lost weight. In 20 years - lets see where you're at. It's time to wake up people. WAKE UP. There are entities out there thar are trying to kill you. Get out your smart phone when you go tithe supermarket and google the ingredients in products you buy. Then you might believe. Might. In the meantime - good luck.

  35. Almost everything contains nitrites or nitrates because they are used as preservatives. The FDA issues a regulation as to how much manufacturers can put in these chemicals because our bodies can fix the damage at a much higher rate than what these chemicals can cause. Ofcourse everything should be in moderation but even Beer and some cosmetics contain nitrites and nitrates
